FAQs

My rate for individual sessions at 50 minutes in length is $175.
I also offer 1.5 hour sessions for $250. Although not required, these sessions can be helpful when utilizing bottom up approaches for longer processing, such as EMDR and SE.

I am not paneled with insurance companies. I can offer a superbill if you have out of network benefits.

Superbills are given to clients and insurance companies that are out of network.

When a therapist is out of network, they do not have a direct relationship with your insurance carrier. This means that the cost of treatment and sessions may not be covered by insurance.

Consequently, your therapist will not submit a claim to your insurance company for payment. Instead, you can seek reimbursement for a portion of your expenses by providing a superbill to your insurance company.

To determine if you have out-of-network benefits, contact your insurance provider. Note that Medicare recipients do not have out-of-network benefits. It is crucial to understand your benefits before starting treatment. Also, inquire if prior authorization is needed for out-of-network services.

If your insurance provider confirms that you have out-of-network benefits, you may be eligible for reimbursement for some of your out-of-pocket costs.

Confidentiality is a crucial aspect of the relationship between a client and a psychotherapist. Effective therapy relies on a high level of trust, given the highly sensitive nature of the topics discussed, which typically remain confined to the therapist’s office. Every therapist should provide a written copy of their confidentiality agreement, ensuring that what you share in sessions remains private. This is known as “Informed Consent.” However, there may be times when you want your therapist to share information or update someone on your healthcare team (such as your physician, naturopath, or attorney). By law, your therapist cannot release this information without your written consent.

Nevertheless, state laws and professional ethics mandate therapists to maintain confidentiality except in the following situations:

  • Suspected past or present abuse or neglect of children, adults, or elders, which must be reported to authorities such as Child Protective Services or law enforcement based on information from the client or other sources.
  • If the therapist believes the client is at serious risk of harming themselves or has threatened to harm another person.
